  • ...on Sickness, Bible Club, Beach, the kiddo's and Valentines

So February was a month of sickness for us as a family. Alliah first for a whole week and then Dorothy and I had it for several days. That fateful Sunday morning I woke up dressed the kids and took them along to church all by myself, oh yeah, that was a day I was on to preach as well. Talk about multitasking. Funny thing is the kids did better behavior wise that Sunday than most... So anyway no Blake has a cold and a cough again.

For Valentine Cheryl Hostetler (school teacher here) babysat for us so we could go for dinner, we left before our reservations and went for a long walk on the beach...
Yours truly relaxing on the rocks at the beach   (don't you just love self potraits)

Last week on Tuesday the mission ladies had a get together and it was at our house so I was required to make myself and the kids really scarce. I had a few things to do in Grand Anse so off we went and then I swung in at the Limes to see what Mike was up to with their kids. Long story short I ended up at the beach with Blake, Alliah, and Evan and a couple of sand toys and we had a blast for an hour in one of the biggest sand boxes around.

Then in the evening we took some of the kids from our Bible Club to the playground for a while. Talk about chaos and mahem.

Here's a shot from one of our favorite hangouts. The airport. Georgous Sunsets, Beastly planes and it usually involves our favorite chinese (which is has been closed for February and will not open till April, ugh)

  • Holidays in the Caribbean....

...is a horse of a different color
...is a beach with a different tide

    Well you get the point.

Christmas caroling with sweat dripping of your body seems just a bit odd and although we enjoy it, we are not sure if we will ever get used to it completely.

Waking up Christmas morning and packing the bags for a beach visit is also strange but this I welcome and really enjoy. And while winter used to be one of my favorite seasons (used to be) I just don't think I will ever view a could winter with the same enjoyment as I used to.

So with that being said... here are a bunch of pics from some of our recent family activities.

WARNING! I am sharing this bunch of photos for our family and friends...continuing past this point may lead to extreme boredom, nausea, itchy eyes and a host of other allergic reactions not in any way shape or form related to this post.

The Maltese Falcon was in port recently...as well as a few other yachts.

the big white one in the back can be had for only $250,000 weekly

    Entrance to Fort George

With the promise of a piece of candy upon our return home, these two suddenly put on smiles and willing posed.

We were looking for a peck on the cheek here.... not this.

I think Blake would've spent the night...there were all manner of scary ledges and cannons and things to climb on.

All of the canons at the fort bare this marking of the Queen, a reminder of the British control for most of the Islands history.
